After early breakfast, we drive about one and half hour from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel through the scenic countryside and do a short sightseeing of Namobuddha Monastery. Upon arrival in Namobuddha, we are welcomed with a stunning panorama of snow-capped peaks like Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, Hiunchuli, Langtang Lirung etc.. We can explore the grounds, meditate, attend Puja (ritual) ceremony and talk to Ani (Woman Monk) about their ways of life and Buddhism.

Namo Buddha Monastery is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal, with its Stupa and the Tiger’s Den. It is believed the ancient Buddha was born here as a prince. The Buddha Shakyamuni selflessly sacrificed to feed a starving tiger with his own flesh. Located at the top of a hill, it overlooks important towns like Dhulikhel, Banepa and the scenery is a sight to behold. We can also get a chance to see amazing views of the Himalayan range on a clear day.

We drive further 10 mins or can hike 30 mins to Phulbari, an authentic local village where the Yoga Retreat is located. After getting there, we can relax, enjoying local organic tea along with the tranquil view of the retreat’s green scenery. We then partake in activities including Personalized Yoga Sessions following the BKS Lyengar System, Ayurvedic massages, Craniosacral Therapy, Organic gardening activities and local hikes around the villages nearby depending on your preferences. The Yoga sessions here are considered one of the best in Nepal. We enjoy a 3-course all local organic lunch, where all the produce comes from it’s local gardens and farms

The Retreat is a place to experience the silence of nature and, along with that, peacefulness and spaciousness within ourselves. The resort is located in a serene, natural environment that promotes tranquility and relaxation of our entire being. With its paradise-like seclusion and facilities, the retreat is an ideal location to withdraw from our stressful daily lives and reconnect to nature and ourselves. Being located in the neighboring area of the sacred pilgrimage site of Namo Buddha, the place is seeped in spiritual energy, which enhances the feeling of peacefulness and oneness.

Day 2,Yoga Sessions, Therapy, Massage activities; Bhaktapur Sightseeing and drive to Kathmandu

Waking up the next day for morning Yoga with the Himalayan mountain range in the background is an experience in itself. We enjoy a wholesome breakfast and complete all the remaining activities in the program (depending on your choice). After lunch, we drive a little more than an hour to Bhaktapur Durbar Square for sightseeing of  the UNESCO World Heritage Site on the way back to Kathmandu. After the visit, we drive to Kathmandu and end our tour.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square, in the medieval city of Bhaktapur with its ancient temples, monuments and palaces are magnificent examples of Newari craftsmanship with their beautiful carved wooden windows and latticework. Their people are still renowned for their pottery and hand woven fabrics, including the traditional local red and black saris.
